North Adams Home provides activity programing that matches the right activity to each resident’s individual physical and cognitive capabilities and most importantly, lifelong interests. Activities, whether on-site or in the community, one-on-one or group setting, staff supported or independent, are an important part of maintaining quality of life. Our program is designed to offer “Something for Everyone”. We understand how important it is for seniors who wish to remain active and involved in lifelong/leisure interests to continue.
The in-house computer lab provides opportunity to surf the net or play on line games or for those who prefer, free Wi-Fi is available for those laptop users.
Our monthly activity calendar is overflowing with musical entertainment from the popular George Knight, Marvin Cook to the Dedes.
In addition to our visiting pets, the in-house aviary and fish aquarium are part of our therapeutic activity program.
Wii gaming is also a popular activity. Bowling and golf leagues create fun competition as well as opportunity to socialize.
Our residents are offered an active role in life and the chance to influence decisions which affect them. A Resident Council gives them that chance. As an independent organized group, they meet on a regular basis to discuss concerns, develop suggestions on improving services and plan social activities. By working together they have the chance to improve communication and the atmosphere within their home, help identify problems early when it is easier to correct them, serve as a sounding board for new ideas and promote friendship.
There’s always something happening at North Adams Home!
