NORTH ADAMS HOME CONGRATULATES THOMAS KENDAL, R.N., C.D.S. ON COMPLETING HIS CARES DEMENTIA SPECIALIST TRAINING

 

Thomas Kendall, R.N., C.D.S. a nurse at North Adams Home has successfully completed the course work and passed the credentialing exam to become a Cares Dementia Specialist. This training provides the most current, effective, and applicable dementia care techniques and practices using quality person-centered care approaches guided by the Alzheimer’s Association Dementia Care Practice Recommendations. A Cares Dementia Specialist (C.D.S.) is able to make observations about how to improve the quality of dementia care in different environments and settings. The training will enable the caregiver to become more adept at connecting with the individual, understanding different types of behavior as communication, and helping the individual through their daily life by having learned new techniques and mindsets.
